Equity analyst, futures trader and arbitrageur, Marc Rivalland is an experienced swing trader. He writes regular columns on trading in the British media and conducts training seminars on technical analysis.
Marc Rivalland's swing trading techniques are based on the legendary trader W. D. Gann's swing charts, to which he has added some nuances and modifications of his own based on his experience of swing trading contemporary markets. He swears by swing trading which he says allows "you to make money even when the markets fall and other investors are frowning".
Mr. Rivalland's academic background spans Commerce and Law. After graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce in 1975, Marc Rivalland worked as a share analyst for one of South Africa's leading merchant bankers. At the same time he undertook his Bachelor of Laws degree. In 1979 he emigrated to the UK and worked in the futures industry, first as an analyst and then as an account executive. He was team leader for Conticommodity on the LIFFE floor when it opened in September 1982. After a stint as a floor trader and arbitrageur, Marc was called to the English Bar by the Middle Temple in July 1987 and continues to practise Law.
